Tanning Skin Issues

Problem Skin Conditions and Tanning

Virtually everyone has some sort of skin issue. Here is how we will address some of the more common skin conditions:

Dry Skin

Dry skin issues can be simple as long as a good moisturizing regimen has been implemented at least 2 weeks prior to a sunless spray tan. This typically includes using a high quality moisturizer twice a day. For patchy areas of dry skin, it is recommended to apply extra moisturizers to those areas twice daily for 2 weeks prior to a sunless spray.

Oily Skin

Oily skin issues tend to be more resistive to sunless tanning products.

Sensitive Skin

Breakouts may occur.

Stretch Marks

Resistive to absorbing product, but product can be applied to stretch marks using a cotton swab and applying it directly onto the stretch marks and then rest of body is sprayed as usual

Vitiligo

Resistive to absorbing product, but can be applied to non-pigmented areas using a cotton ball, let product dry and the spray rest of body as usual.

Psoriasis

We cannot spray areas with broken skin. However, spray tanning can be incredibly beneficial for psoriasis patients especially for those that are going to be undergoing PUVA treatments.

Eczema

Best not to spray tan with Eczema. However, if there are only a few small patches a barrier cream can be applied to protect the effected areas. The product will react with the dead skin cells, which in turn, leads to darkening in those areas affected. It is best to wait until there is little to no symptoms of Eczema on the skin before spraying.
