Lash extensions are delicate things and do need a little TLC to ensure that they last well. The answer to ‘How long will they last?’ is hugely variable – it mostly comes down to you and what you do (and don’t do) to them.
DO
For the first 24 hours AVOID wetting your lashes, heat, facials, and tanning beds.
After 24 hours resume your normal lifestyle. When spray tanning, wear goggles. When receiving a facial, place cotton rounds over lashes.
DO
Cleanse your lashes daily and rinse with water (after the first 24 hours).
Only use specific cleansers that a formulated for lash extensions. Any oil-based products used on lash extensions will degrade the adhesive bond. Avoid facial cleansers or beauty products directly on the lashes. Avoid facing the showerhead and use a washcloth to wash the face.
DO
Be GENTLE with your lashes.
Excessive rubbing or touching of the eyes will cause premature shedding of your natural lashes and/or extensions as your fingertips contain oil. Wipe down your lids and lashes with water after working out or excessive sweating. If you have oily skin, use blotting paper and wear powder or eyeshadow one lids to help absorb oils.
DO
BRUSH your lashes in the morning with a lash conditioner and clean mascara wand in order to strengthen the bond, gloss the lash, and fortify your natural lash with Biotin and Pro-Vitamin B5.
DON’T
NEVER use eye shadow base, gel pencil or liquid eyeliner. These will break down the bond. Use an angled head brush and powdered shadows for eyeliner, moisten the brush with water for a more defined line.
DON’T
Use just ANY mascara. Only use mascara that is specifically formulated for eyelash extensions. Apply mascara only to the tips of the lash extensions and NEVER use waterproof mascara.
DON’T
Expose your lashes to excessive heat from ovens, grills, and fire pits. Open the oven/grill doors to allow heat to disperse first.
